![]() Rotational Battles Rotational battles give a new twist of style and strategy to the battle in the Unova region. As you and your opponent battle, you can rotate which of your pokemon should attack and which should defend for the good of the group. This brings strategy into the picture, along with the classic style of pokemon, "Practice makes Perfect", referring to the levels and evolutions. Preview seen to the right. ![]() Animated Sprites Look at that Reuniclus and tell me this is not amazing! It just can't be done! Now imagine if all pokemon sprites were like this. You were just imagining pokemon black and white, where the pokemon move, make sounds and attack depending on the moves they use and the attacks they endure. Awesome, I know! ![]() Also, as you may have noticed, there are no photo releases of Pokemarts anywhere over the Internet (or at least, no real ones). This is because the Pokemart and Pokemon Center have been merged into one, which explains the cashiers to the side and the blue banner overhead of the register. This will make more room in the city and contribute to a better gameplay, according to the Pokemon Company. The picture above was the best image I could get, which ended up being a fuzzy video of a trade found on youtube. I apologize for this, but there aren't many pictures at the moment, but below and to the side are the pokemon Shelmet and Karrablast, the ones above that require trade with each other to evolve. Also, I recently discovered why they require eachother to trade. and here it is. Shelmet's evolution, Accelgor, is the "Unshelled Pokemon", and Escavalier is the "Shelled Pokemon", so Shelmet sheds it's shell to give to Karrablast (and you can still see Karrablast inside the shell) and can now grow into Accelgor. ![]() |
Pokemon Black and White feature many new things, not found in previous games, including Seasons (as well as Day and Night from the previous series of games), Triple Battles, Rotational Battles, many 3-D effects, unique pokemon evolutions, and 156 new pokemon, and a few more more minor details. ![]() Triple Battles As it has been widely advertised by Nintendo, there are new Triple Battles in this series. In previous games, we've seen the classic single battle and the double battle, but it wasn't widely thought of for a Triple Battle to come into play, but it did and we wouldn't have it any other way! Although it is theorized to be different in future versions, a pokemon may only attack the enemy directly across from itself in battle, unless in the center where you may attack any of the three pokemon. Maybe they'll have a Quadruple Battle next series... ![]() 3-D Masterpiece The majority of Pokemon Black and White is in highly advanced 3-D imaging, and some of the best seen on the DS as well! The Pokemon Center to the left is my favorite example, as well as the vast chambers of the Dragonspiral Tower below, but there are also many great examples from the new game. Go check them out yourself! ![]() Unique Evolutions Although most of the unique evolutions involve the alternate ways for Eevee to evolve into Glaceon or Leafeon and the rest of the location evolutions, there is one pair of pokemon with a unique evolution chain. Karrablast and Shelmet require to be traded with each other for evolution to occur, and it cannot be with any other pokemon, probably having to do with Shelmet looking so similar to Karrablast's evolution, Escavalier, which reasons will most likely be revealed in the manga as it has been before. ![]() Unlike before, Wi-Fi Event pokemon can now be sent directly to your house, instead of driving to the local GameStop or Toys "R" Us for the event. This makes Event Pokemon much more accessible, and store times will no longer be an issue. |
